Are you free?» a warm voice whispered over my shoulder, «Are you truly free? Free to be you? Free to forget everything they wanted you to believe? They have tried to silence you, to blind you, to fill your ears with sweet words, but do you think that is you? The one who looks with melancholy at the raindrops falling down the pane of glass. The one who sighs in silence every time she watches time pass and her dreams fade away. The one who contemplates her own reflection, feeling it alien, unable to recognize her gestures, expressions, or even her own eyes. The one they have blinded with petals and flowers, and placed high atop a tower, so that fear might not brush against her eyelids. Is that you? Or are you ready to be free? Free to be you, free to watch that tower burn. And fly.
